AMR Reports on Connect3’s Footprint Expansion
Connect3 broadens footprint and expands into new markets
Connect3 has been making some interesting moves as it transitions from being a big fish in the small advertising, marketing, and promotions (AMP) market toward becoming a better rounded retail software provider. Building upon its strong core functionality in the promotional planning and execution space, the company is now integrating workflow tools, analytical tools, and cross-channel functionality. The biggest move is the acquisition and integration of Sequoya’s retail analytic assets. This gives it analytical tools, such as category and price optimization, to influence decisions points during the promotion management workflow.

The company also introduced its Promotion Manager DL product for small and midsize retailers. This allows Connect3 to broaden its potential client base and provide smaller retailers a path to expand on their advertising and promotion management footprint in the future. This, coupled with some recent wins in the department store space and an international win, is solidifying Connect3’s position as a major participant in the broadening lifecycle pricing and promotions market. However, these developments now put it in direct competition with such names as DemandTec, KSS, Retail Express, Revionics, JDA, SAP, and Oracle.

RIS News created the Fusion Awards for excellence in retail management in recognition of retail leaders who have demonstrated both the vision and the managerial talent to achieve exceptional business performance. The Fusion Awards change each year, reflecting the evolution of retail management initiatives. This year, RIS News focused on excellence in cross-channel and e-commerce operations.


Westlake Ace Hardware has created a Web/store combination that is increasing customer loyalty. Improvements entail streamlined promotion processes for consistent delivery on customer promotion promises. In the store, wireless scanning in the lawn/garden department has streamlined the checkout process. Additionally, the retailer provides a wider selection, as well as special orders via the website and in-store kiosks. According to President and CEO George Smith, Westlake Ace’s initiatives have increased visits per year and achieved a 50 percent increase in customers’ average ticket size.
