Connect3's Pioneering Efforts

The Connect3 product concept began in 1993 as an integral part of a automated pre-press / printing organization. The vision was to provide pre-press operations the ability to digitize the production process to efficiently and accurately produce heavily versioned retail print advertising.

Over the next several years, an automated system was developed specifically to solve the challenge of bridging the gaps between the Advertising, Merchandising and IT functions required to automate the entire retail promotions process, thereby creating "Connect3".

The original Connect3 Promotion Planning and Production system, now called Connect3 Classic, brought together all of the processes, content and digital assets required to present versioned item and promotional messages to targeted customers. This included product images, logos, copy, prices and other information. In a short time, leading home improvement, hardware and automotive retailers integrated the Connect3 system into their advertising workflows, and as a result, made it a critical part of their business process.



The Enterprise Transformation

In 1998, Dale Byrne, with over 15 years of experience in developing and marketing retail merchandising software and retail consulting services, acquired the Connect3 business to form Connect3 Systems, Inc.

By solidifying and enhancing the product development, support and consulting team, Connect3's Promotion Planning and Production System became a configurable retail enterprise software solution that included versioned content management, digital asset management, advertising page planning, merchant/buyer workstation tools, collaborative promotion planning, performance analysis and dynamic links to industry leading publishing systems.

Over 30 retailers have made Connect3 their enterprise promotion system. With the release of Connect3's AMP Performance Series in January 2002 and the acquisition of Promotion Technologies, Inc., Connect3 provided the framework and the application suite required to support AMP processes at leading retailers. This next-generation integrated Advertising, Merchandising and Promotion (AMP) planning and production system delivers the tools to plan, negotiate, manage, execute, reconcile and analyze promotional programs across all channels and media types.
